
This is the second one of these birds today. The first one had a red feather on it's head and this one had yellow. They've been hanging out on our patio. I got within inches of it and I'm sure I could have picked it up- I had to talk the girls down from trying to keep it.

Your bird is a Golden-crowned Kinglet and the red head is a Ruby-crowned Kinglet. We had them when we lived on the Mack Road. They migrate from Alaska. They winter in conifer forests of lower Canada to Central America. They always seem to be in motion - we're pleased you were able to capture such a good picture! They like suet to eat.
