Deck the Halls...

We made record time this year in picking our tree. The only year that may have been quicker was the year I was pregnant with Bella! I think it took us all of 10 minutes to walk out to the field and pick the tree and walk back! Yippeeeee!!!!

Here it is....
Decorating is a group activity. The post birthday bash baloons in the background - Bella requested that the tree not be put up until after her first birthday party. That was a first this year. I see a change to birthday celebrations for Bella in our future....

The finished product! Such a fun time!

Peyton got to help cut the tree this year. She actually used the saw!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend....

We didn't make it to Whistler this year for Thanksgiving, but we did make a quick trip. Never ones to stay home, we were off to the big city on Saturday and fit a lot into our two days!

The girls had their picture taken in front of every tree we saw - we're keeping a log of them. The girls decided to count how many we can get during the season.
They both remember this Chihuly sculpture from previous trips so we decided that needed to be photographed as well...

We bowled and played lots of games...

We wrote letters to Santa...

with a little help. Peyton got her first "big girl" haircut at a real salon! We stayed at a great hotel on a "high" floor, saw a holiday sidewalk parade and generally had a great time! It was a great kick-off to the season!

Post Thanksgiving Workout!

After the 2nd dinner in two days we decided we all needed a bit of exercise. To the skating rink we went! I'm proud to say that I stayed upright the entire time!

Thanksgiving Day...

Thanksgiving started with a bang at our house! The girls were super excited to finally have enough snow to sled and make snow angels - which kept them out of the house!

Daddy kept dumping snow from the overhead branches on our walk - the girls thought it was hillarious!

We're ready!
Carvin' the bird. All 24 lbs.
Who can eat the most! Or at least clean their plate - I don't think any of them did....

Veterans Day

So, I'm a little late with this. Peyton did such a great job on her Veterans Day project! She interviewed Great Grandpa, Daddy Bob and Poppa with all the same questions. Then she put dots on a map where they were stationed. Daddy and I helped her put it all together and make a copy for school. Then she took it in with some badges, dog tags, and Poppa's beret to share with her class.
