we hope you enjoy our blog. it has become our way to document the daily joys and trials of raising two spirited, independent, sometimes stubborn, always loveable young girls.
On our second day we had lunch at the winery. Our waiter was a local and told us all about the mine that the winery sat on top of and the pile of "tailings" in the middle of the golf course. They used to sled down it as kids! So, we of course had to climb it! The girls were all for it. This was taken from the top looking back at the winery.
The girls victory pose!
Standing in front of one of the old mine shafts with the tailings in the background. Peyton got a hoot out of the whole thing and was a little bit interested in the old miners helmets and pictures in the winery. Bella just had to prove she could do it!
This was lunch today. Low Iodine essentially means eating cardboard! The Apple was the best part since it was naturally salt/iodine free. The organic brown rice no salt added rice cakes and unsalted organic peanut butter left a lot to be desired.
We took off for a Birthday Weekend at Suncadia (Cle Elum). We had such a great time! The hotel caters to families and there was lots to do. This was the view from the observation deck above.
The girls loved climbing on these rocks. We spent more time here than at the playgrounds.
The girls and I surprised Daddy with a Red Velvet Cake for his Birthday! The girls were satisfied with the color this time - it was very red! All made from scratch - I can't remember the last time I made a cake and didn't use a box! It was yummy!
Finally! The girls have been saving in their big jug since Peyton was little. They've been very patient!!! We've been waiting for Bella to be tall enough (42") and she finally hit the mark last week! Now we have to count the jug and see what they've got!
